Rotaract Warsaw Castle (Rotaract Warszawa Zamek)
... is one of several active Rotaract clubs in Warsaw (Poland), if you don't know what Rotaract is, you should probably read this first.
History of RAC Warsaw Castle
History of RAC Warsaw Castle dates back to year 2001, when the initiative group, composed of young college students from Warsaw academies, started regular meetings in the vicinity of the Royal Castle. These meetings served the purpose of understanding the principles and objectives of Rotary and Rotaract. Our knowledge came mainly from the Warsaw Rotary clubs, who were at the root of the initiative to create another rotaract club in the capital. In days gone by, our active presence and assistance from District Governor, Mr. Andrzej Ludek led to the formal creation of the club. Charter club held in September 2001, during the visit to Poland of President of Rotary International, Mr. Richard King.
Activity of RAC
The activity of the club took a number of areas. We actively participated in a national campaign against drug abuse among young people, we organized a conference RYLA devoted to the ethical standards in business and also we helped Rotarians. All the time we help the children, both those from children.s homes as well as simply coming from poor families. What is more, we conducted a successful collection of books for young people and clothes for the homeles. Also, we care about developing the club - as friends and acquaintances as well as people who want to succeed in the future in their field. Together we play, we worki together on various projects and we help each other.
Collaboration
Since 2003, the club is also present in the field of the district 2230. On the initiative of the RAC Warsaw Castle, two editions of Unirota took place. A project involved all clubs throughout the country. Our members also participate in all conferences in the district.
